The bridge under construction at Hodzo-Aviefe in the Ho Municipality has been flooded following Tuesday’s heavy rainfall, temporarily disrupting movement along the route and raising safety concerns for motorists and residents.
The Municipal Chief Executive for the Ho Municipal Assembly, Stephen Adom, said the volume of rainwater overwhelmed the construction site, prompting authorities to assess the extent of the damage. He advised road users to exercise extreme caution while using the affected stretch as engineers undertake the necessary evaluations and remedial works.
Hon. Adom assured the public that every effort is being made to restore safe access, protect lives and property, and ensure the bridge project is completed on schedule. He also appealed to residents to remain patient and cooperate with authorities as measures are implemented to address the situation and improve safety around the construction site.
