Sefe, Miheso Assure Anlo Flood Victims of Continued Support as Relief Distribution Begins

Sakome (Volta Region) – July 2026
The Member of Parliament for Anlo Constituency, Mr Richard Kwame Sefe, and the Anlo Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Rolex Agbey Miheso, have assured residents affected by the recent floods of sustained support as they work to recover from the devastating impact of the disaster.
The assurance was given when the two leaders, together with officials from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and representatives of the District Chief Executive, visited flood-affected communities in the Shime area to present relief items to affected households.
The team visited Sakome, Dosukofe and Agorbledokui, where several homes and livelihoods were severely impacted following heavy rains and the overflow of the Keta Lagoon, leaving many families displaced and in need of urgent assistance.
Mr Sefe said the intervention was part of his commitment to supporting constituents during difficult periods, noting that while the relief package may not fully replace the losses suffered, it would provide some immediate comfort and assistance to affected families.
He assured residents that the exercise would be extended to other affected communities within the Shime area and Kome, adding that efforts were ongoing to mobilise further support for flood victims.

The relief items presented included 150 student mattresses, 210 bags of rice, 50 basins, 100 buckets, 150 blankets, 105 pairs of Wellington boots, cooking oil and other essential household supplies.
Mr Sefe expressed appreciation to the chiefs, opinion leaders and residents for their resilience and cooperation in the wake of the disaster.
For his part, Mr Rolex Agbey Miheso sympathised with the affected families and assured them of continued collaboration with relevant stakeholders to provide additional assistance and help restore normalcy.
He said the leadership remained committed to working with government agencies and partners to find lasting solutions to minimise the recurring impact of flooding on communities within the Anlo Constituency.
Mr Miheso also appealed to individuals, organisations and philanthropists to support ongoing relief efforts, stressing that collective action was needed to help affected families rebuild their lives.
