Denu, Volta Region – June 2026

Denu Chicago Basic School is set to witness a major boost in its sanitation infrastructure as the Ras Muta Foundation and Nugoryiyi Foundation prepare to officially cut sod for the construction of a four-unit modern toilet facility.

The project which is expected to come off on June 29, 2026 is to significantly improve hygiene standards and enhance the overall learning environment for both pupils and staff.

Once completed, the facility will help address longstanding challenges associated with inadequate sanitation infrastructure while promoting healthy practices within the school community.

The initiative forms part of the two foundations’ broader commitment to education and community development in Denu.

Stakeholders anticipate that the project will provide a safer, healthier, and more dignified environment for learners, contributing positively to academic and social development.

The sod-cutting ceremony is scheduled to take place at Denu Chicago Basic School at 8:30 a.m., marking the official commencement of a project expected to leave a lasting impact on the school and future generations of students.
Members of the public have been invited to attend the ceremony and support the initiative.
