The Central Planning Committee of the Denu Nugoryiyi-Zà (Festival) has officially opened applications for individuals interested in serving on the various sub-committees for the 10th Anniversary celebration of the festival.

The call forms part of early preparations for this year’s landmark edition and is aimed at bringing together passionate, dedicated and community-minded individuals who are willing to contribute their skills, expertise and time towards making the celebration a memorable success.

Over the years, the Denu Nugoryiyi-Zà Festival has evolved into one of the municipality’s flagship cultural events, promoting unity among the people of Denu and its surrounding communities through culture, entertainment, tourism, commerce and hospitality.

This year’s 10th Anniversary is expected to be one of the biggest celebrations since the festival’s inception.

Speaking to Veritas News GH, the Founder of the Denu Nugoryiyi-Zà Initiative, Mr. Israel Bossman, said the decision to involve community members in the planning process is intended to deepen local ownership and encourage broader participation in the festival.

“The idea is to make our people own the initiative and be fully involved. The 10th Anniversary edition is going to be a mega celebration and one of a kind,” Mr. Bossman stated.

The committee is inviting volunteers to serve on several sub-committees, including the Planning and Coordination Committee, Sponsorship and Fundraising Committee, Protocol and Guest Relations Committee, Logistics and Transport Committee, Religious and Thanksgiving Committee, Welfare and Hospitality Committee, Entertainment and Cultural Committee, Venue, Decoration and Grounds Committee, Security and Safety Committee, as well as the Documentation and Souvenir Committee.

According to the organisers, the involvement of volunteers will help harness the talents, ideas and expertise of residents and friends of Denu to deliver a successful and memorable festival.

A member of the organising team also encouraged the public, particularly the youth and indigenes of Denu, to actively participate in this year’s celebration and use the festival as a platform to showcase the rich cultural heritage, traditions and hospitality of the community.

“Together, let us preserve our heritage, celebrate our culture and create unforgettable memories,” the member urged.

The Denu Nugoryiyi-Zà Festival is an annual week-long celebration, traditionally held in April, featuring a variety of activities including health walks, health screening exercises, Quiz and Art Competitions, beach carnival, cultural performances, entertainment programmes and other community development initiatives.

The Denu Nugoryiyi-Zà Festival has, over the years, served as a catalyst for community development, supporting several impactful initiatives. Among its latest interventions is the recently commissioned project to construct a modern, state-of-the-art washroom facility for the Denu Chicago Basic School, aimed at improving sanitation and enhancing the learning environment for pupils.

The Committee urged Interested persons who wish to serve on any of the festival’s sub-committees to contact 0244920801, 0541437728, or 0244506273 for further information and registration.
