2023 Mama Hogbe Queen kicks off inspirational educational tour from Blekusu

Miss Sylvia Mawuyra Fiadzo, winner of the 2023 edition of the Mama Hogbe Beauty Pageant has embarked on an educational tour to some Basic Schools at Blekusu in the Ketu South Municipality.

The tour which was an invitation from the Blekusu Mina Basic School Old Students Association, also forms part of her projects to “Promote the standard of child education in Anloland,” where she used the opportunity to interact with the pupils and their teachers

Schools visited were, Blekusu Mina AME Zion Basic School, Blekusu Roman Catholic Basic School, Divine Favour Preparatory School, and Volta Gospel Preparatory School all within the Blekusu Electoral area.

During all her interactions, she advised the pupils to live a chaste life and desist from all forms of social vices, citing them as barriers to achieving quality education.

“Immoral acts such as premarital sex, drug abuse, gambling, internet fraud, stealing, robbery and any form of bad lifestyle that the society frauds upon should be avoided,”

“As pupils, you must remain discipline at all times and take your studies very serious because that is the only gateway to your bright future,” Sylvia advices

During her engagement with Veritasnewsgh, she shared why education is important for every child,   

“Formal education has become an important integral part of every society in the world, one cannot realise his/her full potential without having access to education, the very reason why every child must prioritize their matters of education,”

The leadership of the Blekusu Mina Old Students Association led by Dr. Philip Kwame Nubor and Mr. Famous Kudoto all expressed gratitude on behalf of the Association saying her presence and interaction would go a long way to impact the pupils positively toward a brighter future.

Mr. Rapheal Nukamewor, Assemblymember for Blekusu electoral area who also led the entourage expressed his excitement over the visit saying, the visit is not only an iconic one but it will also motivate them to study hard towards such brighter futures.

The Pupils also expressed joy over the visit with some saying, they will have to study hard to become eloquent and influential as Miss Sylvia.

Miss Sylvia Fiadzo will continue the tour where she will donate educational materials to some selected Basic Schools within the Anlo Area in the coming days.

Mama Hogbe is a cultural beauty pageant, an official event of the annual Anlo Hogbetsotso festival celebrated by the chiefs and people of Anlo. Winners of the Pageant embarks on impactful projects within the Anlo Area as part of their obligations.
