Dr. Mawuloe Koffi Kodah, an Associate Professor of French at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), has been appointed Principal of Peki College of Education by the institution’s Governing Council.
Dr Kodah, a native of Agotime-Kpetoe in the Volta Region, currently serves as Head of the Department of French at UCC. He holds a PhD in French with specialisation in Discourse and Literary Analysis, alongside other academic and professional qualifications from Ghana, Senegal, and the Netherlands.
With more than two decades of academic and administrative experience, Dr Kodah has held several leadership roles at UCC and has contributed extensively to teacher education as an external examiner and a Governing Council representative for Colleges of Education.
A prolific scholar, he has authored five books, co-edited the Soleil French Course series for Ghanaian basic schools, and published over 25 peer-reviewed journal articles.
As Principal, Dr Kodah is expected to provide strategic leadership to strengthen academic excellence, French-language education, and teacher professional development at Peki College of Education.
Peki College of Education, formerly Government Training College (GOVCO), was established on February 12, 1954, in Peki, South Dayi District of the Volta Region. The institution began with 30 male students and became co-educational in 1961 after admitting its first 25 female students. Its founding principal was Mr. A.F. Neale. The college’s motto, Nihil Sine Labore (“Nothing Without Labour”), reflects its longstanding commitment to excellence in teacher education. Dr. Ebenezer Appah Bonney is the immediate past Principal.
