Akatsia (V/R) – August 2026
Former Milo Marathon champion and CEPS officer Godwin Atsu Adukpo has boosted the appearance of the Anloga District contingent at the ongoing Volta Regional Basic Schools Sports Festival in Akatsi with new sporting gear.
Mr Adukpo donated 25 pairs of running kits each for boys and girls, comprising tops and pants, to give the district’s athletes a fresh look and improve their representation at the competition.
Explaining the motivation behind the gesture, he said he was inspired to support the team after recalling that some athletes were still using running vests that had been in use for more than 25 years.
“I decided to look back at the days. I remember they were using the running vests we used 25 years plus ago. We need to do our best in any little way to help.”

Mr Adukpo has, over the years, supported sports development in the Anloga-Keta area, including donations of sporting equipment and cash to schools, including his alma mater, Anlo SHS, as well as organising and sponsoring marathon events to promote athletics among young people.
He told veritasnewsgh.com that he plans to visit the event ground at Akatsi during the festival to interact with and motivate the athletes, with the possibility of providing additional support.
His latest gesture adds to his efforts to encourage grassroots sports development and provide young athletes with the resources needed to compete with confidence.
