Post-Flood Relief: Volta Regional and Anloga District NADMO Support Shime Communities

Devego-Anloga (V/R) – August 24 2026

The Regional Directorate of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), led by its Director Mr Pascal Agbagba, has collaborated with the Anloga District NADMO Directorate to distribute relief items to households affected by the recent floods in the district.

The exercise, which formed part of a post-flood relief intervention, targeted communities affected by the overflowing of the Keta Lagoon, including Nyikutor, Suipe, Dewegodo, Devenu and Nugble.

The recent flooding has displaced and affected numerous households, particularly in communities within the Shime area, leaving many residents in need of essential supplies.

Relief items distributed included rice, blankets, cups, mosquito nets, student matresses, cooking oil and other essential household supplies.

Anloga District Chief Executive, Mad. Sandra Seyram Kpedor, who also led the distribution exercise, said the intervention was aimed at alleviating the difficulties faced by affected households.

She said the District Assembly, in collaboration with NADMO, mobilised the relief items to provide immediate support to residents whose livelihoods and homes had been affected by the floods.

Speaking to Veritasnewsgh.com after the exercise, Mr Pascal Agbagba said NADMO remained committed to supporting affected families and working with relevant stakeholders to respond promptly to the needs of communities during times of distress which he says is the core mandate of the organisation.

He said the organisation would continue to collaborate with district authorities and other stakeholders to provide assistance to communities affected by disasters.
