Samuel Awuku Resigns as Director-General of the National Lottery Authority
Samuel Awuku, the Director-General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), has tendered his resignation, effective January 13, 2025. His decision was formally communicated to President John Dramani Mahama through an official letter dated January 13, 2025.
In his letter, Mr. Awuku cited his election as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Akuapem North Constituency as the primary reason for his resignation. He explained that his new parliamentary duties require his full attention, prompting his decision to step down from his role at the NLA.
Mr. Awuku was appointed Director-General of the NLA in August 2021, with his position officially confirmed by the Public Services Commission in July 2022. During his tenure, he oversaw various reforms aimed at improving the operations of the NLA.
In his resignation letter, Mr. Awuku requested the appointment of a replacement to ensure a smooth transition and efficient handover of responsibilities. He also expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve in the position and extended his best wishes to the President.
Samuel Awuku’s resignation marks the end of his tenure at the NLA as he transitions to focus solely on his parliamentary duties for Akuapem North Constituency.
