Anlo Queens Council Holds Leadership Seminar Series on Transformational Leadership and Youth Development

The Anlo Queens Council has successfully concluded a series of transformational leadership seminars aimed at strengthening leadership capacity among queen mothers and young people across the Anlo traditional area.

The programme, themed “Empowered as One,” brought together stakeholders from across the Anlo Dukor for intensive training sessions designed to promote responsible leadership, community development, and youth empowerment.

The Queens seminar was held at the Beverly View Plus Hotel in Tegbi within the Anloga District. It ran from Monday, June 1 2026, to Tuesday, 2nd June 2026, and attracted more than 50 queen mothers from various communities within the Anlo State.

The training focused on strengthening leadership capacity through key thematic areas such as conflict management and conflict resolution, community development, leadership ethics, and networking strategies. Organisers noted that the programme was designed to enhance the ability of traditional leaders to positively influence development at the grassroots level.

The programme was sponsored by the Heart of Ghana Mission, with support from the Mission Global Fellowship.

Facilitators for the seminar included Reverend Dr Charles Leslie, President of Mission Global Fellowship, who urged participants to prioritise the welfare and development of their followers in all leadership decisions.


“Servant leadership is essential for effective traditional leadership. Leaders must always place the needs of their people first,” he stated.
Also facilitating sessions were Reverend Quarshie, leader of Hearts of Ghana Mission, and Madam Woelinam Afetorgbor, Civic Educator at the Anloga District office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE).
Madam Afetorgbor delivered a presentation on the application of law in conflict resolution and community development, stressing the importance of lawful leadership in sustaining peace and development in communities.

Before the queens’ programme, a one-day youth workshop was held on Saturday, 30th May 2026 at the Anloga District Assembly Hall. The workshop brought together more than 60 young people from across the Anlo Dukor and focused on moral discipline, modest living, talent development, personal responsibility and leadership skills.

Participants were encouraged to identify and nurture their talents while remaining focused on becoming responsible and influential members of society.
Some beneficiaries described the session as impactful and educational, calling for more such programmes to support youth development in the area.

The seminar also featured vibrant cultural performances by the Dodovi Cultural Troupe of Tegbi, whose displays added colour and cultural significance to the programme.

Some Traditional leaders, including Togbi Ahormene IV of Tegbi and Togbi Hatsu II, who also serves with the Anloga District office of the NCCE, graced the occasion and underscored the importance of leadership training in preserving cultural values and advancing community development. They used the moment to urge the Queen Mothers to play vital leadership and supportive roles to complement the chiefs towards a peaceful and productive communties

Mama Wotorbe II, President of the Council, in her closing remarks, expressed appreciation to all participants for their commitment and active involvement in the programme. She described the seminar as a meaningful step towards strengthening unity and leadership among queen mothers and youth within the Anlo traditional area.

Mama Deawoefe II, founder of the Council, also expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the programme.
“We aim to organise ourselves, promote the pride of Anlo, and bring positive change to our communities. We are seeing that vision gradually materialising,” she stated.

The Council also used the occasion to register new members who have applied for induction following the completion of the necessary traditional rites, officially making them recognised queen mothers within the Anlo traditional structure.

At the end of the programme, certificates of participation were presented to both queen mothers and youth participants who completed the various training sessions.
