A Fulani herder murders his four-month-old pregnant wife at Frimpong-Krom in the Bono Region

In a chilling act of domestic violence, a Fulani man named Mamud has brutally murdered his own four-month pregnant wife, Barikisu, at frimpong-krom, a border town between Nkrankwanta (Dormaa West District, Bono Region) and Côte d’Ivoire.
The shocking incident occurred on Sunday, June 15, 2025, and has left the entire community in grief and disbelief.
According to eyewitness Abdullai, the couple had a history of domestic abuse. Barikisu, believed to be no older than 20, had been suffering repeated maltreatment from Mamud.
On the day of the incident, she reportedly confided in Abdullai, their landlord, expressing her desire to return to her hometown due to the unbearable abuse.
While the landlord was discussing the matter with both husband and wife, he received an urgent phone call and asked the couple to wait for his return. During that window, Mamud allegedly convinced Barikisu to return to the village with him.
Tragically, that evening, while the household was having dinner, Mamud stood up suddenly and slaughtered his pregnant wife in cold blood, shocking everyone present. He fled the scene immediately after the gruesome act.
Medical personnel later confirmed her death and performed a surgical operation to remove the unborn baby before her body was buried.
Following a brief manhunt, Mamud has been arrested with the support of local authorities and Côte d’Ivoire border police.
He is currently in custody as investigations continue.
