Headmaster of Piina SHS interdicted over alleged food smuggling

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has taken steps to interdict Mr. Adams Mahama Issahaku, the Headmaster of Piina Senior High School in the Upper West Region.
This follows a directive from the Director-General of GES, pending the outcome of an investigation into an incident involving food items discovered in his official pick-up truck during a journey from Piina SHS to Wa on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
In a letter dated February 7, 2025, and signed by the Regional Director of Education, Razak Z. Abdul-Korah, stated that the interdiction is a procedural requirement and does not imply guilt.
Meanwhile, Mr. Issahaku is required to hand over the school administration and all related property to the Upper West Regional Director of Education and as well advised to cooperate fully with the investigation and to avoid actions that might compromise its proceedings.
The letter has been copied to key stakeholders, including the Director-General of GES in Accra, the Deputy Directors-General, the Regional Minister, the District Chief Executive of Lambussie District, and the Board Chairman of Piina SHS.
The GES has assured that the outcome of the investigation and subsequent decisions will be communicated in due course.
