Anlo Senior High School (ANSECO) is set to witness a historic homecoming as the 2007 year group of the School (ANSSOSA 07) prepares to launch activities ahead of its 20th anniversary celebration.
The three-day commemorative launch, scheduled for Friday, September 18 to Sunday, September 20, 2026, at the school’s campus, will officially usher in activities towards the grand 20th anniversary celebration slated in 2027, exactly 20 years after the group completed their secondary education in July 2007.
Under the theme, “Reuniting, Reliving, Celebrating 20 Years of Excellence,” the milestone celebration seeks to bring together members of the year group, school management, staff, students and friends of ANSECO to reconnect, reflect on their journey, celebrate their achievements and renew their commitment to the continued growth and development of their alma mater.
The launch activities will feature a blend of cultural, social and networking programmes, including a Borborbor Night, a Mini Durbar with school management, staff and the Students Representative Council (SRC), a sod-cutting ceremony for the anniversary legacy project, and a grand anniversary dinner.
Mr Godsway Amevor, Acting Chairperson of the Anniversary Planning Committee, said the celebration represents more than just a reunion, but a moment to honour the bonds, experiences and values that have shaped members over the past two decades as he calls on all members to contribute towards their legacy project
“Twenty years have passed since we left the walls of ANSECO, but the values, friendships and experiences we built here remain with us. This anniversary is an opportunity to reconnect, celebrate how far we have come and give back to the institution that laid the foundation for our future,” he said.
The programme will begin on Friday with the arrival of members, followed by a candlelight vigil in honour of colleagues who have passed on. The vigil will transition into the Borborbor Night, which will provide an evening of cultural display, entertainment and interaction involving old students, current students and the wider school community.
On Saturday, the year group will undertake a sod-cutting ceremony for its anniversary legacy project, which involves the renovation and transformation of the school’s library into an ultra-modern library and study centre.
The project will transform the existing facility into a modern learning centre equipped with updated textbooks aligned with the new curriculum, internet-enabled computers to support Information Technology (IT) education, and other relevant academic resources to enhance teaching and learning.
The day’s activities will climax with a grand anniversary dinner and celebration for members of the year group.
Mr Benard Worlali Awumee, a member of the Media and Event Coordinating Team, said the anniversary launch was also a call to all members of the 2007 year group, as well as other ANSSOSA members, to reconnect and play their part in supporting the continued development of their alma mater.
“ANSECO invested in us, and today many of us are making meaningful contributions across different professions. This anniversary is our opportunity to return, reconnect and invest in the next generation by supporting the school that gave us our foundation,” Benard said.
Members of the 2007 year group have distinguished themselves in diverse professions, including medicine, education, engineering, security services, journalism, entrepreneurship, fashion, public service and other fields, both in Ghana and abroad.
Madam Patricia Habada, Event Coordinator, has therefore invited all members of the 2007-year group, old students, friends and partners of ANSECO to participate in the activities and be part of a memorable celebration of 20 years of friendship, excellence, service and lasting impact.
As anticipation builds towards the milestone celebration in 2027, organisers say the anniversary is not only about celebrating the past, but also renewing the enduring bond among old students and inspiring collective investment in the future of ANSECO.
