Volta NDC Communications Team Leads Project Inspection in South Tongu, Assures of Prompt Completion

Sogakofe (V/R) — August 17 2026
A team from the Volta Regional Secretariat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has inspected 17 key government projects across the South Tongu District as part of efforts to monitor the implementation and impact of development interventions under the John Mahama-led administration.
The inspection, conducted on Monday, brought together key members of the Regional Communications Directorate and the South Tongu Constituency Communications Team. The delegation was led by Kafui Agbleze, Volta Regional Communications Officer, and Mr Del Bright Kugbeadzor, Deputy Regional Communications Officer.
The projects inspected span education, healthcare, digital technology, road infrastructure and market development, reflecting the government’s interventions across critical sectors of the district.
Education Projects
Education accounted for the largest share in the district, with 11 projects inspected. These included completed classroom blocks at Atsieve, Hlevi and Aglorkpovia, as well as ongoing projects being financed through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) and the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).
Other education projects inspected included interventions at St. Catherine Senior High School, COMBOTEC and DASTEC, among others.

Healthcare Interventions
The team also inspected three health projects, including the Free Primary Healthcare Post at the Sogakope Market and CHPS Compounds at Lolito/Nyinuto and Agorgboe.
The projects, according to the team, are expected to strengthen access to basic healthcare services, particularly for residents in underserved communities.
Digital Technology, Roads and Market Infrastructure
In the digital technology sector, the team inspected the 1 Million Coders Project at Agorkpo, an initiative aimed at expanding digital skills and opportunities among young people.
The delegation also assessed work on the Bekpo–Gonu–Sukladzi–Salo Road, while inspecting the proposed 24-Hour Economy Market at Dabala, one of the government’s interventions intended to support local economic activity and create employment opportunities.
The inspection revealed that while some of the projects have been completed and are already in use, others remain at various stages of construction.
Speaking during the exercise, Kafui Agbleze assured the constituency leadership and residents that projects currently under construction would be pursued to completion within the tenure of the present administration.
“We are committed to ensuring that ongoing projects are completed within the administration’s tenure and that the people of South Tongu derive the intended benefits from these investments.”
He said the inspection formed part of the Regional Secretariat’s responsibility to monitor government projects, assess their progress and provide the public with accurate information on development interventions across the region.

Deputy Regional Communications Officer Mr Del Bright Kugbeadzor, speaking to veritasnewsgh.com on Monday evening, also reassured the administration’s commitment to completing the ongoing projects.
He said the Volta Regional Coordinating Directorate, under the leadership of Mr James Gunu, was working to ensure that development commitments made to the people of the Volta Region were translated into tangible projects before the end of the administration’s tenure.
“The Regional Secretariat will continue to monitor these projects closely to ensure that the commitments made to the people of the Volta Region translate into tangible development.”
Mr Kugbeadzor added that the Regional Secretariat of the NDC party would continue its monitoring exercises across the region to document progress, highlight completed interventions and track ongoing projects, ensuring that residents remain informed about the government’s development agenda.
The South Tongu exercise is part of the NDC Volta Regional Secretariat’s broader effort to monitor development projects and assess their impact on communities across the region.
