Real Tamale United (RTU) official Mohammed Kayaba has announced that the club will scrutinize the recent verdict from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee before issuing a response.
The committee fined RTU GHc100,000 for bringing the game into disrepute by fielding unregistered players during their Matchday 28 game against Dreams FC.
Speaking to Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com, Kayaba stated, “Management is yet to sit, analyze it, go through it properly, dig deeper into that, and then we will respond to that. We just received it yesterday and we are having other issues to address, so we are hoping to meet within the week and go through it before we respond to the general public.”
The Disciplinary Committee also handed a one-year ban from all football-related activities to five RTU officials, namely Iddi Manzah Alhassan, Abdul-Samed Iddrisu, Abdul-Gafaru Salifu, Tanko Jentumah, and Sylvester Yaw Apanka, effective immediately. The club faces these penalties for violating Section 34(6)(d) of the GFA Premier League Regulations.
