In a bid to reinvigorate the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and strengthen its grassroots support, a “Rebuilding Our Base” tour has been launched at the University of Ghana.
Mr Justine Frimpong Kodua, General Secretary of the party, disclosed this in a Facebook post-Tuesday morning.
This initiative, spearheaded by Mr Justine Frimpong Kodua, seeks to restore the NPP’s vitality by focusing on its core supporters and ideological foundation.
The tour, which represents a strategic shift towards grassroots mobilisation, saw the presence of key party officials, including Mr. William Yamoah, Director of Finance and Administration; Haruna Mohammad, Deputy General Secretary; Salam Mustapha, National Youth Organizer; Jay Hyde, Deputy National Youth Organizer; Alhaji Osman, Ayawaso West Wuogon Chairman; Dr. Agyanim Boateng, TESCON Patron; Stephen Forson, Deputy Director of IT; and George Krobea Asante, Deputy Communications Director.
During the event, the party’s rich heritage was recounted, tracing its evolution from foundational groups such as the United Gold Coast Convection (UGCC), National Liberation Movement (NLM), United Party, and PFP. The initiative was described as a strategic effort to reconnect with the party’s historical roots and rebuild its base.
“Rebuilding our base entails reconnecting with our roots, understanding where our support originates, and strengthening the very foundation that has defined the NPP’s success,” the leader emphasized. He also reiterated the party’s commitment to inclusivity, declaring, “The forgotten men and women of NPP will be forgotten no more.” Mr Kodua said.
The tour highlights the NPP’s focus on grassroots engagement as a cornerstone of its plans for future electoral success.
