Likpe Senior High School wins 2024 NCCE Oti Regional debate contest

Likpe Senior High School has been adjudged winners of the 2nd edition of the NCCE Oti regional debate contest held July 28 2024 at Dambai aimed at promoting values of peaceful dispute resolutions and democratic values

Other competing schools such as, Krachi Senior High, Bueman Senior High, and Nkwanta Senior High came second, third, and fourth respectively with St. Theresa’s Vocational Technical School, Yabram Community Day Senior High, , Okajakrom Senior Technical, and Oti Senior High schools all participating.

The debate competition is also aimed at shaping the minds of future leaders and promoting a culture of peace and tolerance in the region and Ghana at large.

Mr. Robert Boame, the Oti Regional Director of the National Commission for Civic Education says there is a need to emphasize on the need for peaceful conflict resolutions,

“We must resort to the better ways of settling disputes rather than resorting to violence,” He urged the youth not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to engage in electoral violence during this year’s general elections.

The event was sponsored by Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC, demonstrating the commitment of the company towards NCCE’s initiatives to promote peaceful coexistence, critical thinking, and responsible citizenship among Ghana’s youth
