As part of the steps to improve road infrastructure in the Volta Region, The government has initiated plans to construct the Ho-Aflao and Weta–Afiadenyigba–Havedzi roads.

A delegation led by Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza, Minister for Roads and Highways Minister over the weekend toured these areas to assess the level of work required, He was accompanied by Hon. Suhini, alongside engineers from the Ghana Highway Authority to assess their conditions and outline plans for urgent intervention to upgrade the road connectivity in the area.

During an interaction, Hon. Agbodza announced that the Ho-Dzodze-Tokor-Denu-Aflao Road would be reconstructed under President John Mahama’s “Big Push Agenda,” policy while the Weta–Afiadenyigba–Havedzi Road would be financed through the Ministry of Road’s 2025 budgetary allocations.

Additionally, he revealed that feasibility studies, drawings, and designs for the Ho bypass were near completion, with procurement and construction expected to commence soon.

The Ho-Dzodze-Tokor-Denu-Aflao Road which is about 100 kilometres long has been in bad shape over the years affecting easy transit between the border town and the regional capital while the Weta through Anlo-Afiadenyigba-Havedzi Keta stretch which covers about 15 kilometres was left unattended to after works began on it some years ago, affecting trading activities between the Coastal communities of Keta and Anloga and the hinterlands
