GES revokes appointment of unpaid staff

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has declared the revocation of appointments of some staff of the service.
This staff includes both teaching and Non-Teaching staff who are yet to be placed on government payroll.
This was communicated in an official directive issued by Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, Ag Director General of GES on Monday February 17
This follows a directive from the Government’s Chief of Staff, Mr Juluis Debrah on 10th February 2025 instructing all institutions to revoke appointment and recruitment of persons employed after December 7th 2024.
The Directive instructed all Regional, District, Municipal, and Metropolitan Directors of Education to strictly adhere to and enforce the directive and said further information on the matter would be communicated
For now, it is unclear what the roadmap will be for the affected individuals with regards to getting their jobs back.
