Eight-Member Team Appointed to Plan National Education Forum

Accra, February 2, 2025 – President John Dramani Mahama has inaugurated an eight-member committee to oversee the planning of the National Education Forum, in line with his commitment to strengthening Ghana’s education sector.

The committee, chaired by Professor George K.T. Oduro, former Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, has been tasked to submit its report and recommendations within two weeks.

Other members of the team include Professor Goski Alabi, Professor Rosemary Bosu, Samuel Awuku, Professor Smile Dzisi, Kofi Asare, Stephen Owusu, and Inusah Shiraz.

The terms of reference for the committee include developing themes and sub-themes for stakeholder engagement, identifying key participants, preparing an agenda, selecting a venue, and providing a budget for the forum. Additionally, the team is to draft a national education policy framework and propose an action plan for implementation three weeks after the forum.

The announcement was made in a statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Spokesperson to the President.
