Dr. Bryan Acheampong to contest NPP’s Flagbearership  – Andy Appiah Kubi

The former Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Andy Appiah Kubi has confirmed the immediate – past Agric Minister, Dr. Bryan Acheampong’s intent to contest for the NPP’s Presidential candidacy.

During an engagement with the media, the two – term Member of Parliament cited the need for the party to align with Dr. Bryan Acheampong’s vision, unity and a force that can claim victory – 2028 for the party.

Although, the three – term Member of Parliament for the Abetifi Constituency has not officially made public – his – intent to contest for the Presidential candidacy of the NPP, all indications, activities and euphoria from the MPs camp shows a clear and obvious willingness to lead the party.

The leader in whom we’ve all been working effortlessly with, to succeed our part is preparing himself and that person is Dr. Bryan Acheampong. I’m just a messenger, but at the right time, he will declare his intent to all of you. But the little I know is that Dr. Bryan Acheampong, an astute Academian, is rooted in both economic and business fields. His work speaks for itself.

You’re aware of the elegant Rock City Hotel Ltd, the biggest Hotel in Africa. He’s a philanthropic leader, as of today, if you go to Achimota school, he has thousands of students he’s taking responsibility for, and at the right time, he will speak to Ghanaians.

We see him as someone who can bring the party together, and I tell you, the NPP is the only political establishment that can develop the country. If we’ve been able to lose an election to the NDC because of confusion and fisticuffs, the only person who can champion the agenda 2028 is Dr. Bryan Acheampong. He’s both an Academician and business mogul. We have others who claim their economist and a business but for Bryan, he’s both the two, he has two doctorate portfolios and we believe he can do the work”, the former MP lamented.

In the last two weeks, Dr. Bryan Acheampong has begun the construction of the Nkawkaw Stadium which will be completed in 18 weeks.

At the construction site on Saturday, May 24, the MP provided an overview of the State and progress of work done since its erection on May 12.
The modified project is a FIFA – standard edifice with ancillary facilities such as Tennis and Basketball courts. These facilities were initially not part of the contract but has been included per Dr. Bryan Acheampong’s decision to fix these much – needed add ups to boost other sporting activities.

So far three areas where the perimeter walls were broken have been fixed. A new FIFA standard rule is that the players must come out from the changing or dressing room directly unto the pitch but with the distance from the old changing room to the pitch is very distant.

It  means that the current changing room has to be relocated to the extreme Eastern side of the pitch. On the right and left behind the goal poles, a one – meter platform will be erected to accommodate one thousand spectators each.

On the Western side of the facility will be the construction of a three – thousand seater bleacher. The facility is a FIFA standard pitch which is 105 meters by 68 meters with 10 – meter allowance for the wall map. The field will be 88 meters by 125 meters  with a two – meter gap from the perimeter wall where the spectators are supposed to stand.
