Akatsi South: Consultants Inspect Site for 24-Hour Economy Model Market

Honorable Daniel Dagba, The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Akatsi South District, on Thursday, March 27, 2026, received a team of consultants in his office as part of ongoing efforts to implement the government’s flagship 24-hour economy policy.
The visit formed a key component of a site inspection exercise aimed at advancing plans for the construction of a modern model market within the municipality. Following a brief meeting, the MCE and the delegation proceeded to the proposed project site at the Akatsi South Central Market.
The presence of the consultants sparked excitement among market women and residents, who expressed optimism about the potential impact of the project. Many see the initiative as a major step toward boosting economic activity and improving livelihoods in the area.
The proposed 24-hour economy model market is expected to significantly transform the socio-economic landscape of Akatsi South. In addition to the market, the project will include essential infrastructure such as a car park, a school, a healthcare facility, and other modern amenities designed to support continuous economic activity.

Hon. Dagba commended the government for its commitment to inclusive development and expressed confidence in the successful execution of the initiative.
He also extended gratitude to the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, for his visionary leadership and dedication to improving the lives of Ghanaians.
The MCE reaffirmed the municipality’s readiness to support the project, noting that its successful completion would bring lasting benefits to the people of Akatsi South.
