Government approves 10% salary increase for public sector workers

The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), the Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment (MLJE), and the Ministry of Finance (MoF), of Ghana have reached an agreement with the Organized Labour on a 10 cent (10%) increase in the 2025 Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) Base Pay.
This agreement, signed at a meeting held on February 20, 2025, will take effect from January to December 2025.
Additionally, in the spirit of Section 113(1) (a) of the Labour Act, 2003 and in consistent with the current economic challenges, cost of living, sustainability of business and desirability of attaining a higher level of employment, The National Tripartite Committee (NTC) has announced an increment in the 2025 National Daily Minimum Wage
“An increase in the NDMW by 10% over the 2024 NDMW which translates into a new NDMW of Ghc19.97”
This new rate will take effect from March 1, 2025, and all employers nationwide are expected to comply and adjust their salary structure accordingly.
The National Tripartite Committee also recommended that the 2025 NDMW be tax-exempt.
