Black Queens Coach Kim Lars Björkegren Expected to be named Interim Coach of the Black Stars

Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren is expected to be named interim coach of the Black Stars ahead of their November double-header against Somalia in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, according to reports.
The Swedish tactician is expected to work alongside Godwin Attram and Ibrahim Tanko as Ghana prepare for two crucial fixtures following a disappointing start to their qualifying campaign.
The Black Stars are without a permanent head coach following the departure of Carlos Queiroz after consecutive defeats to Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia left Ghana bottom of Group C without a point.
Björkegren is already familiar with the senior men’s team, having joined the Black Stars technical staff as an assistant ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup while continuing his role as head coach of the Black Queens
