Adamus Resources Gets Government Reprieve as Parties Agree Mine Turnaround Plan

Accra, —August 21, 2026
Adamus Resources Limited has received a reprieve from the Government following an agreement to develop a roadmap to safeguarding the firm.

The 12-month roadmap will help restore the company’s mining operations and resolve outstanding liabilities.

The decision followed a meeting at the Presidency on Friday, August 21, aimed at resolving the dispute between the Government and the mining company.

Adamus Resources has been identified as one of Ghana’s few operating indigenous large-scale mining firms.

Under the agreement, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, the Minerals Commission and Adamus Resources have been tasked to develop and submit the 12-month turnaround roadmap to the Presidency within two weeks.

Asix-member management team comprising three representatives from Adamus Resources and three from the Government will be established to supervise the implementation of the turnaround programme.

The roadmap will also outline measures to address outstanding liabilities owed by Adamus to key institutions and business partners, including the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF), financial institutions and suppliers.

As part of efforts to restore the company’s financial and operational viability, the parties will explore options for injecting fresh capital into the mining operation, including inviting additional investors to acquire equity in the company.

The Government’s intervention is intended to provide a structured pathway for resolving the dispute, addressing the company’s financial obligations and sustaining the operations of the indigenous large-scale mine.

The agreed roadmap is expected to provide a framework for the parties to work together towards restoring the mine to sustainable operations.

The development was announced by the Spokesperson to the President and Minister of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, in a statement issued on Friday, August 21, 2026
