Gborxoxome-Ave-Afiadenyigba (Akatsi North-V/R) — August 2 2026

LEGETSI CLAN OF AVE AFIADENYIGBA CLARIFIES STATUS OF THE PARAMOUNT STOOL OF THE AVE AFIADENYIGBA-DZAYIME TRADITIONAL AREA

The Legetsi Clan wishes to inform the general public, the Volta Regional House of Chiefs, government institutions, traditional authorities, security agencies, development partners, and all citizens of the Ave Afiadenyigba-Dzayime Traditional Area.

The Legetsi Clan, the recognised royal clan responsible under custom and tradition for producing the Paramount Chief of the Ave Afiadenyigba-Dzayime Traditional Area, wishes to state unequivocally that no person has been duly installed and outdoored as Paramount Chief of the Traditional Area since the vacancy occurred.

Our checks with Torgbui Nuku Mortsi VIII, the Awadada of the Traditional Area, who, by custom and tradition, is required to install the Paramount Chief of the Ave Afiadenyigba-Dzayime Traditional Area, also revealed that he has not installed and outdoored anyone as tradition demands to serve as Paramount Chief for the good people of Ave Afiadenyigba-Dzayime.

The Clan further emphasises that the selection, installation, and enstoolment of a Paramount Chief are governed by well-established customs, traditions, and succession procedures which generations of our forebears have faithfully observed. These processes involve extensive consultations among the royal family, elders, principal family heads, kingmakers, and other customary authorities entrusted with this sacred responsibility.

Accordingly, the general public is advised to exercise caution in any dealings with persons claiming authority as Paramount Chief of the Ave Afiadenyigba-Dzayime Traditional Area. The Clan shall not recognise or assume responsibility for any representations, commitments, transactions, agreements, land matters, fundraising activities, customary decisions, or other acts undertaken by persons who lack lawful customary authority to occupy or represent the Paramount Stool.

In accordance with the customs and traditions of our ancestors, the necessary consultations and customary procedures are currently underway.

The Clan further wishes to inform all citizens, indigenes, and friends of Ave Afiadenyigba-Dzayime that preparations have commenced for the performance of the requisite customary rites for the formal installation of the next Paramount Chief and President of the Traditional Council.

The Legetsi Clan further wishes to inform the public that, in the interest of transparency, peace, and the protection of the customary institution of chieftaincy, formal petitions and notices setting out the Clan’s position have been duly submitted to the following institutions and stakeholders:

Ave Afiadenyigba-Dzayime Traditional Council

The President, Dzalele Traditional Council

The President, Ave Dzadzepe Traditional Council

The President, Ave Xevi/Tagba Traditional Council

District Chief Executive

District Security Council

These petitions seek to ensure that no person is recognised, entertained, registered, gazetted, or accorded any status as Paramount Chief, representative, or customary authority of the Ave Afiadenyigba-Dzayime Traditional Area unless such person has been duly nominated, selected, installed, and recognised in strict accordance with the customs and traditions of the Legetsi Clan and the applicable laws of Ghana.

The Legetsi Clan reaffirms its unwavering commitment to peace, unity, respect for customary law, and the preservation of the rich cultural heritage of the Ave Afiadenyigba-Dzayime Traditional Area. We respectfully call upon all citizens to support the lawful customary processes and to refrain from any conduct capable of disturbing the peace or undermining the authority of our traditional institutions.
