LOGBA AKUSAME-VUINTA (Afadzato South), July 24, 2026 —
The Headmaster of Logba Akusame-Vuinta D/A Basic School in the Afadzato South District, Mr. Sewornu Agbo, has appealed to the government and development partners to provide computers to the school to enhance Information and Communications Technology (ICT) education and improve pupils’ performance in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Speaking to the media, Mr. Agbo said the school currently has no computers for practical ICT lessons, forcing teachers to rely solely on theoretical instruction.
According to him, the lack of practical ICT training has negatively affected pupils’ understanding of the subject and contributed to the school’s poor performance in the BECE over the years.
“Without practical ICT training, our pupils are ill-prepared for examinations and for opportunities that require digital skills,” he said, describing the provision of computers as the school’s most urgent educational need.
Mr. Agbo stressed that quality ICT education requires both classroom instruction and hands-on practical experience. He noted that the absence of computer equipment limits pupils’ ability to acquire essential digital skills needed for further education and future employment.
He therefore appealed to the government, non-governmental organizations, corporate institutions and other philanthropic bodies to support the school with computers and other ICT resources.
According to the headmaster, such assistance would significantly improve computer literacy among pupils, strengthen teaching and learning, enhance BECE performance, and better prepare learners for higher education and the demands of the digital economy.
