Richard Sefe empowers 30 young women with skilled training in Anloga-Atiehepe

On Sunday, the Member of Parliament for Anlo Constituency, Mr Richard Kwame Sefe held a ceremony to officially graduate some young women who got enrolled in his Skilled Training and Apprenticeship Program.

The ceremony which was held at ANTECH Basic School Park was to graduate these young women and to officially usher them into the world of work after several years of learning various forms of trade such as hairdressing and dressmaking

Out of the 30 women, 24 learnt dressmaking while 6 of them graduated as hairdressers

During the ceremony, Mr Kwame Sefe shared his motive behind the project. “Politics and democracy must bring development, so as an agent of politics I must persuade developmental goals of my people and here is the evidence, investing in people is an investment in society,” Mr Sefe said

About 3000 people across the Anloga District have benefited from the project since it was launched in July 2021 with many acquiring skills in dressmaking, hairdressing, welding, carpentry, upholstery and many other skilled trades.

Mr. Rolex Agbe Miheso, Constituency Chairman, National Democratic Congress, also reaffirmed his commitment and support for the project and charged the beneficiaries and their families to vote massively for the National Democratic Congress come December 7th for similar projects.

The graduation ceremony was characterised with colourful performances from cultural groups, choral music groups, poetry recitals and other entertaining performances.

Certificate of training with testimonials were awarded to all graduands and their trades mistresses to formally certify their training.

Some beneficiaries shared with VeritasNews how the project has impacted their lives and promised to be loyal to the Member of Parliament and his political ideologies.

This year’s apprenticeship graduation ceremony which started in September was held at various zones including Genui, Salo-Agortoe, Blemazeado, Dzita, Woe, Tegbi, Whuti, and other areas is to graduate more than one thousand (1000) young men and women across the constituency with the grand final ceremony slated for December 1st at Anloga Avete (Hogbe) Park
