The South Tongu Branch of the Ghana Red Cross Society (GRCS) has paid a courtesy call on the District Chief Executive (DCE) for South Tongu, Hon. Victoria Dzeklo, to formally congratulate her on her assumption of office.
The visit, which took place on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, formed part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between the humanitarian organisation and the District Assembly.
The delegation, led by Madam Deborah Agbovi, Mr Emmanuel Madza, and Mr Dennis Sogah, included Mr. Midorse Mawutor Ivan, Mr. Wonder Dogba, and other key officials. They met the DCE at her office in Sogakope to extend warm felicitations on behalf of the Society and reaffirm their commitment to serving the people of South Tongu.
Speaking during the engagement, Madam Agbovi expressed delight at the appointment of Hon. Dzeklo, describing it as a well-deserved recognition of her dedication to the development of the district.
“We are here this afternoon to congratulate you on your new role as DCE of our dear district and to officially introduce ourselves to you as your chief matron,” she stated.
She further conveyed the Society’s confidence in the DCE’s leadership and pledged the full support of the Ghana Red Cross Society in advancing initiatives that promote health, safety, and the well-being of residents.
“As Red Cross members in your district, we have been undertaking numerous humanitarian activities and remain ever ready to collaborate with your office whenever and wherever we are needed,” she added.
The delegation also used the occasion to officially invite the DCE to the upcoming World Red Cross Day 2026, scheduled for May 8, 2026, in Accra under the theme “United in Humanity.” They further briefed her on planned programmes, including first aid training, community health outreach, and blood donation campaigns.

In her response, Hon. Victoria Dzeklo expressed sincere appreciation for the visit and commended the Ghana Red Cross Society for its tireless humanitarian efforts in the district. She acknowledged the critical role the organisation plays in complementing government interventions in health delivery, disaster management, and community resilience.
The DCE assured the delegation of her administration’s readiness to work closely with the Society and other partners to accelerate development and improve living conditions in the district. She also pledged to support the Society in securing office space within the district.
The visit ended on a cordial note, with both parties expressing optimism about a strong and productive working relationship.
