GES Slaps Two-Year Ban on Three Eastern Region SHSs Over Hooliganism

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has banned some three Senior High Schools in the Eastern Region from participating in sports and any co-curricular activities
These schools are; Koforidua Senior High Technical School, New Juaben Senior High School, and New Nsutam Senior High Technical School, from all sporting and related activities for two years, effective February 11, 2026.
The ban was announced by the Ghana Education Service in a directive after consultations based on various codes and laws governing the service and student activities
The sanction follows acts of hooliganism linked to the schools before, during, and after the Regional Super Zonal Sports Games. In addition to the ban, each school has been fined GH¢500 and will be required to pay for any damages or injuries assessed by a committee.
GES has urged school authorities, students, and supporters to strictly adhere to disciplinary regulations to prevent further sanctions.
