Thursday’s Kpeve Water Shutdown: See List of Affected Communities

The Ghana Water Company Limited in the Volta Region has announced an emergency shutdown at the Kpeve headworks. The shutdown they claimed will impact the water supply to some selected communities
This was contained in a press release they issued on Wednesday evening
“The Management of Ghana Water Limited (GWL), Volta Region, wishes to inform the general public that there will be an emergency shutdown at the Kpeve Headworks on Thursday, 22nd January 2026, at 5:00 a.m.
The shutdown, they said, is necessary for some maintenance works
“The shutdown is necessary to enable our engineers to carry out urgent repair works on a serious leakage on the raw water transmission line”
As a result, water supply to Ho Township, Kpeve, Peki, and surrounding communities will be temporarily disrupted.
The Statement said
Production will resume immediately after the repair works are completed. Customers are therefore advised to store adequate water ahead of this exercise.
