The Right to Information Commission has announced an administrative penalty on some Ministries, Departments, and Agencies and Districts Assemblies.
The penalty amount is Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc 20,000.00)
These institutions according to the Commission failed submit their 2025 RTI annual report as requested under section 77 (1) of the RTI Act 2019 (Act 989)
The Commission says these institutions also failed to comply with reminders published in the Ghanaian Times Newspaper on January 20th 2026 and the Daily Graphic on April 24th 2026
Madam Genevieve Shirley Lartey, Esq, who signed the letter says they are expected to pay their various penalties within fourteen days (14) days after reviewing the notice and failure to comply will result in further actions.
