2026 Asogli Te Zá Officially Launched with Call for Unity, Investment and Sustainable Development

The 2026 Asogli Te Zá (Yam Festival) has been officially launched in Ho, with a renewed call for unity, investment in people and infrastructure as pathways to sustainable national development.
The colourful launch, held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the GNAT Hall in Ho, brought together traditional leaders, government representatives, entrepreneurs, corporate executives, members of the business community and culture enthusiasts from across the Volta Region and beyond.
The celebration, was held under the theme “United in Purpose, Investing in People and Infrastructure for Sustainable National Development,” and it showcased the rich cultural heritage, traditions and enduring unity of the Asogli people.
The event was characterised by vibrant cultural performances, with the Asogli Asafo Group, Takla Jama Group and Kpenoe Bɔbɔbɔ troupe entertaining guests through powerful drumming, traditional music and energetic dance performances that highlighted the cultural identity of Asogli.
Hon. Stephen Adom, Municipal Chief Executive for Ho, who represented the Volta Regional Minister chaired the program alongside other dignitaries such as Togbe Kotoku XI, Paramount Chief of the Kpenoe Traditional Area, and Togbe Ayim Adzokoto, Paramount Chief of the Takla Traditional Area, whose participation underscored the support and unity of traditional leadership within Asogli State.
Beyond the cultural displays, the launch served as a platform for engagement, networking and collaboration among traditional authorities, government representatives, business leaders, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders, which brought discussions and interactions highlighted the broader significance of Asogli Te Zá in promoting cultural preservation, tourism, community development and economic opportunities within the region.
The 2026 celebration, anchored on unity, human development and strategic infrastructure investment, seeks to emphasise the role of collective purpose and sustainable investment in advancing communities and the nation.
The Asogli Yam Festival continues to serve as an important annual celebration of the heritage, identity and harvest traditions of the Asogli people, while reinforcing their enduring spirit of unity.
