Nutekpor (South Tongu) — July 17th 2026
The Air Force Cadet Corps of Keta Senior High Technical School (KETASCO) has undertaken an educational visit to the Naval Training Command (NAVTRAC) at Nutekpor to gain first-hand knowledge of the Ghana Navy’s operations and career opportunities within the Ghana Armed Forces.
The visit, held on Friday, July 17, 2026, formed part of efforts to expose the cadets to military life, acquaint them with the Ghana Navy’s operational capabilities, and inspire them to consider careers in the armed forces.
During the tour, the cadets visited selected training facilities within the Command, where they received briefings on the roles and responsibilities of the various schools and units under NAVTRAC. They also toured modern training infrastructure, including the Simulation Centre and the Ship-in-a-Box facility, and interacted with instructors on various aspects of naval training, discipline, and military professionalism.
The cadets were further introduced to the organisational structure, training programmes, and operational activities of the Command, providing them with a broader understanding of the Ghana Navy’s contribution to national security as they undertook some practical drills
Speaking after the tour, members of the cadet corps described the experience as insightful and inspiring. “The tour provided us with valuable insight into military life and the important role of the Ghana Navy in safeguarding the nation’s maritime interests,” they noted.
The visit forms part of NAVTRAC’s continuous engagement with educational institutions to strengthen civil-military relations, promote awareness of the Ghana Navy’s mandate, and encourage young people to explore career opportunities in the Ghana Armed Forces.
The KETASCO delegation was led by Mr James Kulevome, the Master-in-Charge (MIC) of the school’s Air Force Cadet Corps.
