Anloga DCE Urges Swift Completion of GIFEC Telecom Towers, Commends Latame School

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Anloga District in the Volta Region, Madam Sandra Seyram Kpedor, has appealed to the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) to expedite work on telecommunications infrastructure in the district to improve network connectivity and bridge the digital divide.
The appeal was made during a working visit with the Volta Regional GIFEC Director, Dr Francis Seglah, who inspected the proposed sites for the installation of a GIFEC-powered telecommunications mono tower at Atihepe in the Anloga District.
The team also visited existing telecommunications tower sites at Latame and Agortoe to assess their operational status and the progress of ongoing interventions.
Madam Kpedor called on GIFEC to fast-track the completion and activation of the towers to enhance communication services across the district. She further appealed to the agency to extend network coverage to communities that continue to experience poor or no mobile network reception.
She noted that reliable telecommunications infrastructure is essential for education, healthcare, business, emergency response and the overall socio-economic development of the district.
As part of the working visit, the DCE also inspected the Latame D/A Basic School, which she officially commissioned a few months ago, to assess its progress and management.
Madam Kpedor expressed satisfaction with the condition of the school and commended the headteacher and staff for their commitment to maintaining the facility and ensuring its effective management.
She said their dedication was helping to create a conducive teaching and learning environment for pupils. She encouraged them to sustain their efforts in the interest of improving quality education in the Anloga District.
She also used the opportunity to visit some flood-hit homes in the area, as flood waters have begun receding significantly
The DCE reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance both digital connectivity and educational infrastructure to improve the living conditions of residents across the district.
