What’s the Greatest Way to Honour our Fallen Heroes?

Sabah Joshua, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Ketu North Communication Team, writes

The best tribute to our fallen heroes who fought against galamsey is to eradicate this menace from our land. These brave individuals gave their lives, knowing they stood against a tide of illegal mining that threatens our very existence. As the living, it’s our duty to honor their sacrifice by stopping galamsey in Ghana. No words, no matter how eloquent, and places name after them can honour them then stoping galamesey.

Galamsey has taken much from us, including lives like that of Major Adams Mahama, brutally lynched in Denkyira Obuasi while fighting this very cause. It’s high time we wage an unrelenting war against this canker.

Galamsey poses an existential threat to our very existence, causing loss of lives, environmental degradation, water pollution, and health risks. To honor our fallen heroes who fought against this menace, the government must wage an unprecedented war against galamsey without fear or hesitation.
Should we the NDC fails in this fight, it would be a failure and dishonor to the memory of our fallen heroes.

Let’s honor our heroes by winning this fight.
