Aflao (V/R) September 29
The Paramount Chief of the Aflao Traditional Area, Torgbui Amenya Fiti V, has been officially unveiled as Patron of the upcoming Experience Volta Festival.
The unveiling ceremony was held at the Aflao palace of Torgbui Amenya Fiti V, where sub-chiefs, priests, festival organisers, and members of the media gathered to witness the occasion.
The Experience Volta Festival is scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Elwak Sports Stadium in Accra. It has received official endorsement from the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) as part of the prestigious December in GH calendar and the Black Star Experience — a platform that attracts both Ghanaians and the diaspora to explore Ghana’s cultural and entertainment offerings during the festive season.
The event is being organised by Ewevi Multimedia Ltd, owners of Ewe24 TV, in partnership with the Centre for National Culture (CNC) and other institutional supporters, with the aim of projecting the unique traditions, heritage, and economic potential of the Volta Region.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Eric Seyram Agbolosu, Chief Executive Officer of Ewevi Multimedia Ltd, stressed the importance of collective stakeholder participation. He explained that the festival is designed not only as a cultural celebration but also as a developmental platform to attract investment and tourism to the Volta Region.
“We need to take Volta out of the existing market into a new market to attract more customers,” Mr. Agbolosu said. “With the right participation, the festival will open up the region to national and international audiences, boosting tourism, trade, and creativity.”
Following his address, Torgbui Amenya Fiti V accepted the role of Patron and pledged his full support to ensure the success of the festival. He called on people of Ewe descent in the diaspora, as well as Voltarians living outside the region, to participate fully and lend their support to the project.
The festival will feature an exciting blend of activities, including traditional drumming and dance, arts and crafts exhibitions, cultural performances, indigenous cuisine, and investment forums showcasing the Volta Region’s vast opportunities. Thousands of participants from across Ghana and abroad are expected to attend, making the festival a key highlight of this year’s December in GH celebrations.
With Torgbui Amenya Fiti V as Patron, organisers are confident that the festival will not only spotlight Ewe culture but also boost tourism, create jobs, and strengthen the Volta Region’s role in Ghana’s cultural and economic growth.

Why Accra is Hosting the Festival
Unlike traditional festivals held in specific communities across the Volta Region, Experience Volta in Accra is designed to unify all towns, traditional areas, and communities under one cultural platform.
Organisers say hosting the festival in Accra, which serves as a neutral ground, was both strategic and symbolic. By aligning with the December in GH calendar in the capital, the event positions Volta culture within Ghana’s biggest festive tourism market — attracting both locals and international visitors.
The festival also provides an opportunity for Ewes who may not travel back home during the year to reconnect with the traditions they often miss. More importantly, it creates a one-stop shop for everything Volta — food, music, dance, fashion, and tourism — giving audiences a holistic cultural experience.
Beyond heritage, the festival is also expected to deliver strong economic impact, supporting SMEs, artisans, creative talents, and tourism operators. By merging culture with commerce, Experience Volta in Accra is projected to become a model for cultural tourism in Ghana.
Ultimately, the festival is a call to unity, identity, and pride — a chance to celebrate the heartbeat of the Volta Region in Ghana’s capital while projecting its heritage onto the world stage.
