Team ORAL recieves Dossier on National Service Ghost Names Scandal
The preparatory team for “Operation Recover All Loot” (ORAL), spearheaded by President-elect John Dramani Mahama, has taken a significant step in its anti-corruption agenda by receiving a comprehensive dossier on the National Service ghost names scandal today.
The dossier, which highlights fraudulent activities involving ghost names in the National Service Scheme, estimates the financial loss to the state at over GHS 500 million.
This revelation underscores the scale of systemic corruption the team is set to address.
In a statement, the ORAL team expressed gratitude to The Fourth Estate and the Media Foundation for West Africa for their pivotal role in uncovering the scandal and presenting the findings.
“We are extremely grateful for their exceptional patriotism and commitment to the nation’s progress,” the statement read.
The ORAL initiative is central to President-elect Mahama’s vision of resetting Ghana’s governance system and restoring public trust. The team, chaired by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and comprising seasoned professionals in governance, law, and journalism, has been tasked with investigating and recovering misappropriated state resources.
As the nation awaits Mahama’s official inauguration, the ORAL preparatory team has emphasized its resolve to combat corruption and recover all stolen public funds. “Together, we shall reset Ghana and recover all loot,” the team affirmed.
This development marks a bold start to Mahama’s administration, signaling a determined effort to root out corruption and promote accountability in public institutions.
