MTN Ghana spreads Christmas cheer with baby hamper donations to new mothers

MTN Ghana has once again recommitted its mandate to community support and maternal care through its annual Christmas Baby Hamper donation exercise, which brought relief and joy to mothers who gave birth on Christmas Day across selected health facilities in the Volta and Oti Regions.
The initiative, undertaken as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility, saw MTN donate baby hampers to new mothers as a gesture of care and encouragement during the festive season.
In all, 60 mothers benefited from the support.
In the Volta Region, beneficiary health facilities included the Ho Teaching Hospital, Ho Municipal Hospital and the Ho Polyclinic, while additional support was extended to Emmanuel MediHospital, Kumboni Hospital in Sogakope and the Sogakope District Hospital.

Speaking to Veritas News after the exercise, Mr Mawuli Katahena, the Volta and Oti Regional Team Lead of MTN Ghana, described the initiative as a humane and worthwhile intervention that defines MTN’s commitment to supporting families at the most critical moments of life.
He also noted that MTN staff voluntarily sacrifice their Christmas holidays each year to ensure the program’s success.
“We at MTN Ghana would make sure we sustain the annual Baby Hamper Donation initiative, while also deepening its engagement with communities in the two regions. We also remain focused on improving the well-being of residents through various social interventions, alongside efforts to enhance digital connectivity,” Mr Katahena said
MTN Ghana has indicated that the Christmas Baby Hamper initiative will continue as a core part of its social responsibility agenda, aimed at strengthening community relations and supporting maternal and child health.
Mothers who benefited from the donation expressed their appreciation to MTN Ghana, noting that the support made their Christmas childbirth experience more joyous and memorable. They also assured the company of their continued loyalty, pledging to remain subscribers as a gesture of gratitude.
