MTN Ghana announces major network expansion for Volta and Oti Regions

MTN Ghana has announced plans to expand its network coverage across the Volta and Oti Regions, targeting communities currently without reliable connectivity as part of efforts to deepen digital inclusion.

This was disclosed by Mr Mawuli Katahena, the Volta and Oti Regional Team Lead of MTN Ghana in Ho, over the week.

According to Mr Katahena, the company has secured budget approval to roll out network services to underserved areas within the two regions. He further revealed that MTN is deploying fibre broadband infrastructure in Ho to deliver high-speed internet access to businesses and residents, with plans to extend the service to other municipalities in the near future.

Mr Katahena also noted that the network expansion forms part of MTN Ghana’s broader strategy to enhance connectivity, support economic activity and improve access to digital services across the Volta and Oti Regions.

The announcement was made on the sidelines of MTN’s annual Christmas Baby Hamper donation exercise, held as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility, which reached out to some 60 new mothers who delivered on Christmas Day at some selected health facilities in Ho and Sogakofe.

Mr Katahena added that MTN remains committed to sustaining the annual initiative, while steadily investing in network expansion to improve service delivery and customer experience across the two regions.

“Our goal at MTN Ghana is to ensure that no community is left behind. This network expansion and the rollout of fibre broadband, we are committed to connecting more people, empowering businesses, and delivering high-speed internet access to every corner of the Volta and Oti Regions.”

If successfully delivered, the network expansion will further consolidate MTN Ghana’s position as the country’s leading mobile network, with the Volta and Oti Regions remaining among its most widely utilized and patronised service areas.
