MP Edem Agbana meets Ketu North MCE aspirants, calls for Unity

Member of Parliament for Ketu North Constituency of the Volta Region, Honourable Edem Agbana, has taken a proactive step to ensure a smooth and united selection process for the next Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area.

On the morning of Wednesday, January 15th, 2025, He hosted the aspirants for the position in his office, fostering a dialogue centred on collaboration, unity, and the shared vision for the municipality’s progress.

During the meeting, Hon. Agbana and the aspirants agreed to approach the selection process devoid of acrimony or division. They pledged to offer their unwavering support to whoever President John Dramani Mahama nominated for the role.

The Member of Parliament seized the opportunity to outline his ambitious vision for Ketu North, emphasising the critical importance of teamwork and mutual respect.

“Our collective strength lies in unity. When we choose cooperation over division and support one another without undermining each other, there is no limit to what we can achieve,” he stated.

The engagement, which comes ahead of vetting and the official nomination process, reflects Hon. Agbana’s commitment to fostering an atmosphere of inclusivity and collective responsibility.

He assured the aspirants of his readiness to work collaboratively with whoever assumes the role, highlighting the significance of cooperation in addressing the developmental needs of Ketu North.

The aspirants commended the MP for his leadership in convening the meeting and expressed their willingness to contribute to the municipality’s growth, regardless of the selection outcome. The call for unity has resonated positively within the community, with many stakeholders expressing hope that the cooperative spirit will ensure a peaceful and productive transition.

According to a press statement released by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Volta Region secretariat, thirteen (13) individuals have applied to be considered for the position. Meanwhile, the party at the national level has also set conditions and vetting modalities for the upcoming process in the coming days

As Ketu North prepares for the upcoming vetting and nomination process, the emphasis on solidarity is a timely reminder of the importance of prioritising the municipality’s collective well-being over individual interests.

Hon. Agbana’s efforts to bring the aspirants together underscore his dedication to fostering a united front for governance and development.
