Media General reaffirms commitment to fair journalism amid NPP exit

Media General Responds to NPP’s Withdrawal from Its Platforms

Accra, January 31, 2025 – The Media General Ghana Limited, owners of TV3 Ghana, 3FM and Onua TV has issued a statement in response to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) decision to withdraw from all its platforms.

In a press statement released Friday evening made available to Veirtas News, Media General reaffirmed its commitment to bold and factual journalism, emphasizing its adherence to principles of fairness, objectivity, and independence.

The media organization categorically denied accusations of biased panelling, disruptive hosting, and unprofessional conduct as claimed by the New Patriotic Party.

“Media General wishes to categorically assert our commitment to our bold and factual journalism, our editorial position is built on the pillars of fairness, objectivity, and independence,” The statement said.

It asserted that its teams uphold the highest journalistic standards to ensure diverse perspectives are represented.

Media General assured political stakeholders of its dedication to fostering unbiased relationships through open dialogue. The company expressed gratitude to its audience for their continuous support and patronage.

This development follows a press statement from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the week announcing the party’s withdrawal from engagements with Media General platforms accusing them of biased paneling among other issues which the Party declared their intention not to honour any invitation to all their platforms including radio and television platforms.

Media General has pledged to continue its mission of informing public discourse with unwavering truthfulness.
