Keta MCE Nomination: Emmanuel Tay supports Mr Seade’s nomination, calls for unanimous endorsement

Mr. Emmanuel Kwaku Tay, the Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Keta Constituency, has called on all Assembly Members within the Keta Municipal Assembly to set aside individual differences and rally behind the President’s nominee for Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Wisdom Bondiu Seade.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) Monday evening during an exlusive interaction, Mr. Tay who was among the shortlisted aspirants for the MCE position, publicly declared his unwavering support for Mr. Seade’s nomination, emphasising the need for unity and a renewed development focus for the municipality.
“Though I had high hopes of being nominated for the position, I recognize that leadership is about service, and only one person can be chosen at a time,” Mr. Tay stated. “I fully respect the President’s decision and wholeheartedly support Mr. Seade’s candidacy. Keta is at a crossroads and urgently needs a new developmental direction. That vision can only be achieved through collective support and unity.”
Mr. Tay also praised Mr. Seade’s leadership qualities, describing him as a competent and dedicated individual who shares a deep commitment to the progress of Keta.
“I’ve worked closely with Mr. Seade over the years as part of the NDC Constituency Executive team. He is industrious, humble, focused and hardworking. I believe he has what it takes to implement the President’s vision and reset Keta onto a path of growth and prosperity,” he added.
Mr. Tay further appealed to all Assembly Members to give Mr. Seade their full support during the confirmation vote scheduled for Thursday, April 9.
“I expect nothing less than a 100 percent endorsement. This is not the time for divisions. Keta deserves progress, and it starts with us endorsing a capable leader,” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, several Assembly Members who spoke to the GNA also expressed their readiness to vote in favor of Mr. Seade’s confirmation. They described the upcoming vote as a crucial step toward revitalizing the municipality, which they say has experienced stagnation in recent years.
“We’ve lost valuable time due to delays in leadership appointments. Confirming Mr. Seade without resistance will allow development projects and policy implementation to commence without further setbacks,” one Assembly Member remarked.
