Joyce Bawah, Stan Dogbe, Seth Terkper, and others get key appointments

As part of activities to strengthen governance, and enhance operational efficiency, President John Dramani Mahama has announced some key new appointments to the Presidency

Aimed at, and driving his administration’s development agenda

The appointments, announced on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, by Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the President’s acting spokesperson, reflect the President’s commitment to assembling a team of highly skilled professionals to advance his vision for the nation.

The announcement includes ten prominent individuals, with a focus on Mrs. Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Stanislav Xoese Dogbe, and Seth Emmanuel Terkper, who bring extensive expertise to their respective roles.

Here are the Key Appointees and Their Roles

1. Mrs. Joyce Bawah Mogtari has been appointed Presidential Adviser and Special Aide to the President. A seasoned public servant and communications expert, Mrs. Mogtari previously served as Deputy Minister of Transport and is known for her strategic insights and leadership skills. Her new role will see her providing direct counsel to the President, supporting decision-making processes, and coordinating key initiatives.

2. Stanislav Xoese Dogbe, a respected media and communication strategist, will serve as Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of operations. Mr Dogbe’s role will focus on ensuring operational efficiency and effective coordination of the Presidency’s activities. With a strong background in strategic planning, he is expected to streamline processes and enhance productivity within the President’s team.

3. Seth Emmanuel Terkper, a former Minister for Finance, has been named Presidential Adviser on the Economy. With a deep understanding of fiscal policy and economic management, Mr. Terkper’s appointment highlights the administration’s prioritization of economic stability and growth. His expertise will be instrumental in addressing fiscal challenges and implementing policies to promote sustainable development.

Other Notable Appointments

Professor Francis Dodoo: Appointed as Presidential Adviser, National Anti-Corruption Programme, reflecting the administration’s focus on tackling corruption and promoting transparency.

Larry Gbevlo-Lartey: Named Special Envoy to the Alliance of Sahelian States, tasked with strengthening regional cooperation and addressing security and development issues.

Nana Oye Bampoe Addo: Appointed Deputy Chief of Staff (Administration) to oversee administrative operations at the Presidency.

Professor Kwaku Danso-Boafo: Designated as Cabinet Secretary, ensuring effective communication and coordination between the Cabinet and the Presidency.

The list also includes Nana Yaa Jantuah and Beatrice Anangfio as Presidential Staffers, with Shamima Muslim taking on the role of Deputy Presidential Spokesperson.

President Mahama’s Vision for Governance

In a statement accompanying the announcement, President Mahama expressed confidence in the appointees’ abilities to excel in their respective roles.
