Government outlines activities for Ghana’s 68th Independence Anniversary

The National Celebrations Planning Committee (NCPC) has outlined a series of events to commemorate Ghana’s 68th Independence Day celebrations.
In an official statement released by Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister for Government Communications and spokesperson to the President, he outlined a detailed lineup of activities to mark the five days celebration period
The activities as outlined will include the commemoration of the 28th February Crossroad Shooting Incident on February 28, 2025.
The second phase of events will be the finals of a nationwide school quiz on Sunday March 2nd 2025 to be followed by the National debate competition on Tuesday March 4, 2025.
Other key events include the President’s School Children Awards on Wednesday March 5 and a ceremonial parade at the Presidency on Thursday March 6th 2025
Additionally, the NCPC’s Communications Subcommittee will roll out historical and educational content in preparation for the 28th February Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Nationalism Park. This initiative aims to reignite interest and participation among the youth and the general public in Ghana’s independence history.
