GTA endorses “Experience Volta in Accra” festival as key highlight of December in GH lineups

In a significant boost to regional cultural tourism, the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has officially endorsed a new cultural festival, Experience Volta in Accra Festival , as part of its flagship “December in GH” lineup, a move that positions the Volta Region’s rich heritage on the national and international stage.
The endorsement, confirmed through a press statement issued by Ewevi Multimedia Ltd, organisers of the festival and owners of Ewe24 TV on September 15th 2025, cements the Experience Volta in Accra Festival (EVT 058) as a headline cultural attraction within the country’s most celebrated holiday season.
The festival is set for Saturday, 13th December 2025, at the ELWAK Sports Stadium in Accra.
The Ghana Tourism Authority’s endorsement is not only a recognition of the festival’s cultural significance but also a strategic gesture towards diversifying Ghana’s tourism offerings and promoting lesser-highlighted regions like the Volta Region.
A Cultural Showcase on a National Platform
The Experience Volta in Accra Festival promises an immersive celebration of Volta’s heritage, bringing together traditional rulers, priests, cultural performers, and artists in a vibrant showcase of drumming, dance, traditional attire, and regional cuisine. The event will climax with the Volta Experience Concert, headlined by leading DJs, musicians, and comedians with roots in from the Volta region.
According to the organisers, the festival is not just an entertainment event but a cultural statement aimed at elevating the Volta Region’s image within Ghana’s national narrative and on the global tourism map.

A Major Milestone for Volta’s Creative and Cultural Industry
Speaking on the endorsement, the Management Board of Ewevi Multimedia described the GTA’s support as a “milestone moment” in the journey to establish Volta as a powerhouse of Ghanaian culture and creativity.
“This endorsement marks an exciting milestone in positioning the Volta Region as a powerhouse of Ghana’s cultural and creative tourism,” the statement read. “It is also a call to action for all stakeholders — traditional leaders, creative industry players, businesses, tourism operators, and the diaspora — to unite in shaping this festival into a global cultural attraction.”
This recognition by the GTA places the Experience Volta in Accra Festival alongside other major December events such as Afrochella (now AfroFuture), Rhythms on the Runway, and BHIM Concert, further amplifying its visibility and tourism potential.
An Invitation to Celebrate, Collaborate, and Invest
The event organisers have extended a nationwide and global invitation to individuals, corporate bodies, diaspora communities, and cultural enthusiasts not only to attend but actively participate in making the festival a success.
With the official endorsement now in place, the spotlight turns to stakeholder collaboration. Traditional authorities, regional tourism offices, creative talents, media houses and businesses are being called upon to seize the opportunity to showcase the Volta Region’s identity on a broader canvas.
“Let’s make it our event! Let us come together to make a bold statement to the world, to celebrate our heritage, and to create a lasting image in the minds of our audiences at home and abroad,” the statement added.
Driving Cultural Tourism Through Strategic Inclusion
The inclusion of the Experience Volta in Accra Festival in the GTA’s December in GH calendar aligns with the Authority’s broader mission to promote cultural diversity and regional inclusion in Ghana’s tourism narrative.
By endorsing regionally rooted events such as this, the GTA continues to decentralise Ghana’s tourism calendar, offering platforms for multiple communities to contribute to and benefit from the booming festive tourism season.
The 2025 edition of December in GH is expected to attract thousands of tourists, both local and international, as Ghana continues to position itself as the “gateway to African culture.”
