Nine people lost their lives with several injured in a very tragic accident involving a Sprinter bus and truck on the Walewale highway in the North East Region on the afternoon of Thursday February 13, 2025
According to eyewitnesses, the Sprinter vehicle was travelling from Kumasi towards Nalerigu, crushed into the truck which was parked on the side of the highway.
Nine people died as a result whiles fifteen sustained various degrees of injuries and currently receiving treatment at the Walewale Government Hospital where they were rushed to.
The eyewitnesses further said that the Sprinter was speeding and, upon entering the Walewale Township, saw the parked truck but lost control, leading to the crash.
The Ghana police have since began an investigation into the accident to determine what exactly caused the accident.
