Award-winning filmmaker and creative visionary Dela Finn is set to premiere his latest short film, RED PILLS, a thought-provoking production aimed at raising awareness about the growing menace of substance abuse among young people.
The film, scheduled to premiere on May 30, 2026, at The Underbridge Event Centre in Accra, seeks to spark critical conversations around a social issue that continues to affect countless lives and communities.
With RED PILLS, Dela Finn turns the spotlight on the alarming rise of substance abuse among the youth, exploring the psychological, emotional, and social consequences associated with drug dependency. Inspired by increasing reports and disturbing incidents circulating on social media, the filmmaker says the project was born out of a desire to encourage awareness, prevention, and collective action.

According to Dela Finn, the film is intended to serve as a wake-up call for families, educators, policymakers, and young people themselves. Through compelling storytelling and relatable characters, RED PILLS seeks to expose the often-hidden realities of drug abuse while encouraging open dialogue about the challenges facing today’s youth.
“This is more than a film premiere,” Dela Finn stated. “It is a call for awareness, dialogue, and collective responsibility. Drug abuse is gradually finding its way into ordinary homes and affecting lives silently. We must confront it together, educate one another, and protect the future of our youth.”
The film features a cast of promising emerging talents, including Jessica Kassah, Gertrude Bubune, Constancia Adorvlo, Efo Kodjo, Leo Lyrixs, Joy Danku, Arnold Wailer, Yaa Flora, and Keeny Ice. Executive produced by SYNNA®, the production prioritizes authenticity and emotional depth, with the cast carefully selected to deliver realistic portrayals of the challenges and consequences associated with substance abuse.
Beyond its premiere, discussions are underway to secure wider distribution for the film, allowing its message to reach audiences both within Ghana and internationally. The move aligns with Dela Finn’s vision of using cinema as a catalyst for social change and ensuring that important conversations extend beyond the screening room.
Widely known for his impactful storytelling and commitment to addressing societal challenges through film, Dela Finn has built a reputation for creating productions that go beyond entertainment. Since beginning his filmmaking journey in 2015, he has consistently used cinema as a platform for education, advocacy, and social transformation. His previous works, including Bound To Be, ELORM, Dear Dad, and the internationally acclaimed ABUSED, have earned recognition both locally and internationally for their powerful messages and artistic excellence.
As anticipation builds ahead of the premiere, RED PILLS is already being hailed as a significant contribution to youth advocacy and public education. Through this latest project, Dela Finn once again demonstrates the power of film not only to entertain but also to enlighten, challenge perceptions, and inspire meaningful action toward a healthier and more informed society.
