Chiefs and citizens of Anloga petition IGP over killing of Mad Dorcas “The Base” Korkor

Some concerned citizens of Anloga in the Volta Region have petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to investigate the gruesome murder of one Madam Dorcas Korkor Tetteh, popularly known as “The Base” of Anloga Kportorgbe.

The tragic incident occurred on the morning of Saturday December 28, 2024, and has left the community in shock and mourning

In a peaceful demonstration held on Tuesday morning led by Togbi Zewu IV, Dufia of Anloga, Togbi Subo II and some other Traditional authorities and influential people in Anloga, they presented a petition meant for the Inspector General of Police to Supt. Benjamin Samani, Anloga District Police Commander

The petition, dated December 31, 2024, and signed by Togbi Zewu IV, Dufia of Anloga, along with other Chiefs, youth leaders and concerned citizens, called for swift justice.

Some demands documented in the petition were;
“A comprehensive and impartial investigation into the murder, The apprehension and prosecution of those responsible, Adequate protection and support for Madam Tetteh’s family”

They also called for implementation of preventive measures to curb future crimes including an intensified crackdown on known bases of drug users and dealers in the area.

The citizens who were engaged by the Veritas News emphasized the need for urgency, urging law enforcement authorities to act swiftly and decisively to restore a sense of safety to the community.

This tragic incident underscores growing concerns about security in Anloga, and its environs and the response of the Ghana Police Service will be critical in maintaining public trust and ensuring justice for the bereaved family.

According to the document, Madam Tetteh was discovered dead in her bedroom, which is attached to her eatery. Preliminary reports indicate she was strangled, and a forced entry through her window suggests foul play.According to the document,

Some of the citizens in a very grieving mood remembers Madam Dorcas Tetteh for her generosity and her contributions to the local economy.

Supt. Benjamin Samani upon receiving the petition thanked the citizens for their bold step and promised to act upon it for a peaceful community.
