ANSECO and Latame Community receive state-of-the-art facilities to enhance education

The Anloga District Assembly and the District Education Directorate have handed over two major educational infrastructures to management of Anlo Senior High School (ANSECO) at a brief ceremony.

Management of ANSECO received a modern multi-purpose hall to mark a significant milestone in the school’s infrastructural development.

The project, fully funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), is part of ongoing efforts to address long-standing infrastructure challenges and enhance teaching and learning in the district.

The handing over ceremony was led by Madam Sandra Kpedor, the District Chief Executive (DCE), alongside Mr Dominic Dzanado, the District Director of Education, and technical staff.

Speaking at the event, Madam Kpedor urged the school management to ensure proper care and maintenance of the facility so that it serves its intended purpose for students and other users.

Information obtained by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) indicates that prior to the construction of the hall, the school kitchen had been operating under a temporary shed since the project’s commencement in 2012. Students previously dined under a structure made of iron sheets and wood, which then called for the urgent need for a modern and spacious facility.

The newly completed hall can accommodate approximately 1,000 students and features a spacious courtyard, a state-of-the-art kitchen that will come with gas and cylinder installations, office spaces, and other functional areas.

Its versatile design allows it to serve multiple purposes such as assembly hall, conference venue, and entertainment space among others

Mr. Newman Dziedzorve, Headteacher of ANSECO, commended the contractors for their quality work and pledged to ensure that the facility is effectively utilised to enhance students’ educational experience.

In a related development, a modern kindergarten block has also been completed and handed over to the people of Latame near Alakple in the Kome area.

The new facility is expected to significantly improve teaching and learning for young children, reducing the need to travel long distances to schools in Atito or Alakple.

The newly constructed kindergarten block is equipped with relevant teaching and learning materials, and well-ventilated windows with other modern equipment to ensure a comfortable learning environment for the children.

The handover ceremonies were overseen by local leadership of the NDC Party, with Madam Kpedor urging teachers to maximize the use of the new facilities to deliver quality education. She also assured the communities of more development projects soon to further strengthen educational infrastructure in the district.
